Responsible for L&D, skill building and ensuring quality of deliverables by implementing strategies to achieve objectives of the vision for the Competency. Ensure Scalability and recruitment. The role also involves a minimum of 50% of billable activities which involves managing some production support projects directly. A Competency Manager should be capable of providing technical guidance and is responsible for building the skill of the team, including quality of delivery. A dynamic leader with extensive hands-on experience in supporting large and mission critical production systems, to build and lead the Sapiens CoreSuite for NA P&C production support team in India as part of Sapiens P&C US Division.Build and grow production support competency including capacity planning, training and career path for team members.Implements Sapiens methodologies, develop missing procedures and enforces compliance to high quality.Focus and ownership of L3 support while working closely with Managed Services team to anticipate rate of inflowTrack and ensure adherence to SLAsUnderstand customer contracts and plan & establish Rota system for teams based on the need for different customersPrepare and publish reports and dashboards working closely with US manager and ensure regular governance meetings are conductedRelease planning of maintenance items as per agreement with customerMeeting and exceeding financial and quality targets, with emphasis on growing recurring business from production customers (‘trusted advisor’).Build excellent working relationship with internal and external stakeholders as “Partner” for smooth functioning of Production Support competency.Understand implementation details for new Go Live projects, ensure smooth handover from Development and Delivery teamsAbility to meet aggressive timelines and motivate the team to meet agreed deadlines.Responsible for the communication and relationship with customers for support issues and accommodate any time zone needsResponsible for releases scheduling with release manager, resource planning, quality of deliverables, budget & time trackingIdentify and drive continuous improvement initiatives RequirementsA bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred or any other discipline with relevant experienceProven managerial abilities - minimum of 10 - 12 years professional experience in a development team, of which at least 5 years specific experience in managing development group and at least 3 years’ experience in managing production support teamsExperience with management of development life cycle and development methodologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to details and need for speed in a mission critical systems supportExperience with onshore/offshore delivery setupExperience in customer facing role- MUSTExperienced with working in a Matrix management environment - MUSTPMP/ITIL Certification – AdvantageExcellent written and verbal communication skills Show more Show less Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology, Project Management, and Production Industries Insurance
